Terms and Conditions

By making a jewellery purchase from Zaphir, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Warranty

Zaphir offers a 6 month warranty period from the date of purchase. During this time, we will repair or replace any item that proves defective in terms of materials or workmanship, under normal use and care. This warranty does not include normal wear and tear. You must provide proof of purchase when you contact us to arrange the repair or replacement.
All pieces are carefully checked for quality before they are posted out to customers in protective packaging. If you receive an item that has been damaged in transit please contact us immediately using our ‘contact us’ form on the website.

Normal Wear & Tear

Normal wear and tear is not covered by our warranty.
Many metals including precious metals may tarnish and scratch with wear. We do not recommend that you wear your jewellery while swimming or using cleaning products, as chlorine, some household chemicals, solvents and bleach can cause tarnish or damage to silver (We have actually tested this out to help you understand the process better; see our blog). Be aware that any piece can get scratched, dented or knocked with normal wear. The natural sweat and oils in our skin can react with silver and sterling silver, turning it or your skin black or green. This is only surface discolouration and can easily be removed with a soft, clean cloth and warm soapy water.

Variation in Handmade Pieces

All handmade jewellery might have slight imperfections/solder marks/tool marks etc but these in no way affect its quality or longevity, and instead adds to the charm of your unique piece. All our pieces are checked for quality and workmanship before they are despatched.

Display and photography

All props used in our product photography (such as pebbles, stones, ring stands, wooden slabs, wool balls etc.) are for display purposes only and are not included in the sale. All our photography is done in-house with the actual pieces of jewellery for sale.

Gemstones

Gemstones have different hardness ratings, and certain softer stones are more prone to scratches or damage, so exercise caution when wearing. We will usually state the hardness of the gemstones in our listings using the Moh’s scale of hardness, so you can make an informed judgement on whether it suits your lifestyle. We also only use stones of hardness 6+ for higher wear pieces like rings and bangles, whereas earrings and pendants can often tolerate softer stones as they are less likely to be bashed in normal wear.

Customisation & Bespoke

Any jewellery that has been personalised or custom made to order cannot be returned or exchanged. This is because it is made bespoke for you, and not part of our core range. A 25% deposit will be payable when commissioning Zaphir for a bespoke piece. This deposit is non-returnable should you change your mind and cancel the order.

Proper Care

Sterling silver jewellery naturally tarnishes over time. Fine (pure) silver is less prone to tarnishing, so mixed-silver pieces may show different rates of tarnishing and this is normal. Some people enjoy this patina, others prefer to remove it using a gentle silver polish and a clean, soft cloth. Proper care of your jewellery means that it is kept away from cleaning products, chlorine, creams, lotions, oils, perfumes and make-up. When not in use, it should be stored carefully and separately to avoid scratching or tangling. Sunlight can increase the rate of tarnishing, so we recommend you store pieces away from direct light.

Returns and Cancellations

We will accept returns for any reason within 14 days of receipt. This excludes earrings unless faulty (for hygiene reasons) and personalised or bespoke items.

To request a return, please fill out our returns form. Once the return is authorised, please return the jewellery in all its original packaging to the address provided in the authorisation email. It is your responsibility to ensure that the jewellery is returned safely, so we recommend using a trackable and insured service, such as Royal Mail Special Delivery. We are in no way responsible for items that are lost in transit, so please retain proof of postage. The buyer is responsible for all returns costs. If when the item is received it is deemed to be faulty, the postage paid will be refunded up to the value of £7.50.

You may cancel your order within 24 hours, however once you have received the email saying we have despatched your item(s), we will be unable to cancel the order. You can still return any unwanted pieces within the 14 day returns period.

Items that have been obviously misused or abused will not be refunded and will be returned to the buyer at their own cost.

Discount Codes

These terms and conditions govern the use of discount codes provided by Zaphir ("we", "us", "our") for purchases made on our website located at www.zaphir.co.uk ("the Website").

  1. Discount codes are valid for a limited time period as specified in the promotional material. Expired discount codes will not be honoured.

  2. Discount codes are applicable only to eligible items purchased on the Website and cannot be combined with any other offers, promotions, or discounts unless explicitly stated.

  3. Only one discount code can be used per transaction. Discount codes cannot be applied retroactively to previous purchases.

  4. Discount codes have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash, gift cards, or store credit.

  5. Discount codes are non-transferable and may not be sold or exchanged.

  6. Discount codes may have specific usage restrictions, such as minimum purchase requirements, maximum discount limits, or exclusions on certain items. Please refer to the promotional material for details.

  7. In the event of a return or exchange, the discounted amount will be deducted from the refund or store credit, if applicable.

  8. We reserve the right to modify or cancel discount codes at any time without prior notice.

  9. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

  10. By using a discount code, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
